Noho's Hawaiian Cafe Description:
In the midst of a long dark winter, Noho's offers a slice of tropical sunshine, or maybe the illusion of sunshine. Either way, Portlanders head to this Hawaiian outpost gratefully saying "Mahalo" to the food gods who brought this family-run restaurant to the mainland. Surfboards on the walls and the warm service give the relaxing feel of a vacation getaway. Entrées are available in two different sizes, both accompanied by rice and macaroni or green salad. Kalua pig is served every Friday, but the most popular dishes are Phil's Ono Chicken and Kimo's Sweet Korean-cut short ribs. A huge yakisoba noodle selection is also available with a choice of four sauces---but be forewarned: the garlic is wickedly hot. Ask to pair it with prawns, a request always fulfilled. Top off the meal with a refreshing glass of POG served in a down-home Mason jar.
