Le Bistro Montage Description:
In the wee weekend hours, when the bars close and revelers are hungry, there is just one place to go. Montage. It's the destination of choice, even at 3 a.m., and even at that hour you might have to stand in line. You can't have a romantic tête-à-tête at Montage, but it might be one of the liveliest evenings in town. The huge, almost luridly dark, room is usually thronged, with most of the seating at long communal tables. Part of the fun here is meeting strangers and becoming chummy after sitting side-by-side for a noisy, hearty meal. The cuisine stars Cajun and Southern dishes such as jambalaya, clam and andouille sausage linguine, even a jalapeño-infused spicy mac 'n' cheese. Lunch features po' boys, brunch omelets and hash. Just don't expect subtle service; it's as fun as everything else here. If you ask, your server will even wrap your leftovers in a foil masterpiece. Drop in on a Monday or Tuesday evening when bottled wine is half-off.
