Delta Café Description:
Southern charm is sometimes just what a chilly Portlander needs. This haven of Southern comfort and warmth is a top destination during Portland's gray, wet winters. Come spring, summer and fall, the down-home fare still draws the locals. You must arrive with an empty belly in order to thoroughly savor all the wonders of the Delta. Enjoy gargantuan portions of fried chicken, blackened catfish, or red beans and rice with andouille sausage. Don't forget the cornbread, mashed turnips and carrots, black-eyed peas or collard greens. Wash everything down with a Lynchburg Lemonade laced with Jack Daniels or a frosty can of PBR. Be prepared to sit a spell because the service here is occasionally as slow as molasses.
