Urban Farmer Description:
You've heard of wine tasting, cheese tasting, even olive oil tasting. How about some beef tasting? Urban Farmer not only scours the West seeking top-quality beef, they've developed their own breed of cattle at the Basque Ranch near Mt. Hood. The cow is king at this progressive steakhouse where diners sit amongst shelves of leather-bound books, jars of pickled fruits, and a field of wheat grass. Menu choices include organic, sustainably-harvested products showcasing local flavors---including lamb, steelhead trout, and grass-fed Oregon beef. Portland-brewed beers, Oregon varietals, and spirits from local distilleries are also available, as well as a homemade moonshine that is aged in the restaurant. Desserts offer a riff on American classics, including an apple and pumpkin cobbler with salted caramel ice cream.
