Dante & Luigi's was established in 1899 and is 105 years old. The restaurant is in 2 converted town houses, very old world. The food is all homemade authentic Italian.
Located in the heart of the Italian Market, Dante & Luigi's delivers homemade "gravy" and pasta, along with veal dishes and cioppino better than mama ever made. If you start with the special salad of romaine, provolone, salami, peppers and olives, you can then have that gravy on the baked lasagna, and it will gild the veal or chicken Parmigiana, too. Osso buco, traditional sweetbreads with onions and mushrooms, sausage cacciatore and shrimp scampi are also available. Classic tiramisu is a winner for dessert. Work D&L magic at home with a jar, or three, of its custom sauces.
