Twinkling brass fixtures light this pleasant Middle Eastern spot, where the food is authentic and the welcome sincere. Freshness and lightness dominate the cuisine. A favored appetizer is a mixed platter of hummus, tzatziki, taramosalata, dolmates, octopus, feta and olives, and if you are still hungry, there is moussaka, shwarma combinations, kebabs or falafel. Naturally, there are salads, and a number of vegetarian dishes such as an omelet filled with labni, or roasted eggplant. Uncommonly, salmon and tuna are available, and all the yogurt is low-fat. With your Lebanese coffee, you can have some very sweet phyllo and nut pastries, or a chocolate mousse. Cedars is from the same family that runs Fez and Byblos.
