Union Trust Steakhouse Description:
In a city swimming in steakhouses, the Union Trust is something special. The sizzle starts with Prime beef and humanely raised heritage veal from the venerable Allen Brothers in Chicago. And since it touts top-of-the-catch seafood as much as steak, Union Trust partnered with the rough and tumble gang from Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch to deliver Alaskan king crab legs straight from the Bering Sea, along with the contents for a pristine raw bar that boasts one of the fastest shuckers in the world, chef Gordon Weldon. Add to that the restaurant's architecturally fine bones---65-foot-high ceilings, a restored Art Deco design originally created by visionary architect Paul Philippe Cret, seating for 300 à la carte and 100 for private dining, and an 18,000-bottle wine cellar---and this bank-turned-jewelry store-turned-restaurant becomes a player when it comes to steakhouse dining in Philadelphia.
