Straight out of a James Joyce novel, this chummy pub offers antique wooden carvings, a fireplace and even snugs, which are private nooks ideal for snuggling. There's Guinness on draft and the food is new Irish, with a contemporary spin on classics such as boxty---a potato pancake---or rich bread pudding. Choose a toothsome burger or even a Philly cheesesteak if you like. The fish 'n' chips may not be in newspaper but it is quite good and the brown bread ice cream is terrific. There is always a soccer match on the telly---the regulars are passionate about "football."
