Fogo de Chão Description:
This high energy, 11,500-square-foot Brazilian steakhouse wows with a flashy cobalt blue tower and flames leaping from its signature churrasqueira grill, while gaucho costumed servers do dramatic tableside meat carving performances against a backdrop of dark woods, custom-blown glass chandeliers and colorful South American murals. The all-you-can-eat, skewered, charcoal-grilled, salt-crusted meats---beef, pork, chicken and lamb---are available in 15 presentations of 12 different cuts. It's no surprise that the prix-fixe marathon meal has the ability to put you in a stupor, starting with the massive salad bar fancied up with shiitake mushroom salad and cold-smoked salmon. Then, there are the sides, like sweet fried plantains, black beans and rice, mashed potatoes, crispy polenta wedges and Brazilian cheese bread. As for the meats, save room, in particular, for the sirloin, offered several ways: picanha (Prime cut sirloin with or without garlic), alcatra (top cut) and fraldinha (bottom cut). You do pay extra for drinks and desserts, but both are worth the indulgence. Try the caipirinha cocktail or the signature papaya cream with fresh papaya and ice cream soaked tableside with crème de cassis.
