Currents Description:
Perched on the edge of the Nehalem River, Currents is a recent favorite with tourists and locals alike, replacing the prior Nehalem Dock Restaurant. In the summer, the river-side deck is popular seating to watch boats, jumping salmon, herons and other river life. The menu offers a variety of gourmet cuisine, including game hen with fennel, wild mushrooms, chestnuts and bite-size rounds of merguez sausage; Dungeness crab cakes with crafted with pink grapefruit and Japanese cooking wine dipping sauce; mainstream dishes such as grilled pork chops with roasted sweet potatoes and apple-riesling sauce; braised beef short ribs and lasagna (made with sliced potatos, portabello mushrooms, whole-leaf spinach and ricotta); strawberry and avocado salad and locally caught ling cod. Desserts include blackberry layer cake and double-chocolate fudge brownie
