Try not to let this restaurant's strip-mall location keep you away. Updated Italian cuisine is the theme in this space that resides somewhere between red-checkered and white tablecloth. Here's what to order: any pasta that's homemade (you'll have a lot of choices, including cannelloni) and traditional pizzas. While you're at it, be sure to try the house-made hard rolls. The crab cakes are a delight: two arrive cozied up to mushrooms and green beans over pasta in a lemon butter sauce. The veal is good, too; try the veal Armando with shrimp, mushrooms, pepper and fried eggplant over pasta in a light tomato sauce. The wine list is decent, too, if a little over-priced.
