I chose Boondocks as the restaurant to bring my visitors from Australia and Texas for a taste of Nova Scotia seafood. The restaurant was almost empty, early afternoon on a Monday. We were shown to seats by the window and then told they were actually reserved, so moved to another area. The menu's were left at the first table and as the server had disappeared, we had to retrieve them ourselves. After about ten minutes, our order was taken. We eventually flagged someone to bring us some water and waited. The food finally arrived and was either luke warm or cold. We again had to find someone to ask for the food to be returned and heated. The server was no where to be found, until a visit to the washroom, showed us that ALL the staff were sitting at a table chatting and eating. We did finally receive our bill and left. It is the last time I will ever return and will make sure to spread the word. Our Province prides itself on it's food and it's people. Boondocks just left a bitter taste and feeling for me.

Don't even bother.
This is a shame for a restaurant at such a great location with a nice deck on the Eastern passage.
We went there for Sunday night dinner at 6pm, my husband and I, we were also meeting friends there an hour later but decided to go early to enjoy the good weather.
Although the restaurant was only half filled we waited at the door for over 15 minutes with a line up because the greeter was MIA.
Finally we say we want to sit outside and instead of seating us, they hand us menus and tell us to seat ourselves.
We sat outside and waited for service for over 20 minutes, nothing, another group had to go inside to request service, we flagged down someone and asked for service.
Us and the other table being ignored were being served by different servers so it was not the particular waiter/waitress.
Finally someone shows up to take our drink orders, disappears. Walks by us several times. We literally wait another half hour.
Literally one full hour of no service/no drinks, we finally say to heck with this and leave.
At the same time our friends pull in, and all 6 of us go to Celtic corners instead, which has excellent service and was half the price of the items on the menu at Boondocks.
This was sincerely the worst restaurant experience of my life, EVER. The staff was not friendly/incompetent.
Don't waste your money.

Disappointment. Parents were visiting from out of Province and had heard an excellent review someplace, and were excited to go. Having lived here only a few months, I can't say I had ever heard of it, and after our experience, I understand why. The service was the only good thing. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was terrible for the price they were charging. My vegetables were boiled to the point the colour was almost out of them, my "lightly dusted" haddock over overdone and floppy (who messes up pan fried fish?). The seafood linguine was swimming in a tasteless white sauce. The seafood sampler was supposed to have "Tiger Shrimp" in it. They were about the size of a loonie. The seafood chowder must have been made with all frozen food because it too was tasteless and more expensive than the best chowder that I have had in the area (Henry House in Halifax). I honestly doubt that the chef bothers to taste anything he/she sends out because I wouldn't serve it to people in my own house. This is a project for Godon Ramsey. Oh... the beer was good!
