Xaviar's at Piermont Description:
Walk past the restaurant's stone façade and into the elegant dining room. Delicate cream-colored walls surround tables set with floral arrangements, fine crystal and china. Xaviars views the dining experience as a comprehensive one, which is why the eatery offers only two seatings for dinner---6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Opt for the five-course prix-fixe with wine pairings for maximum effect; the formidable wine list spans the globe, which means there's a good match for just about every seasonal item on the menu. Green onion risotto with jumbo lump crab meat served with field greens in a red wine reduction is refreshing but also surprisingly rich in flavor. The sautéed Berkshire pork and braised bacon with Swiss chard, accented with sweet potato and rosemary apple is a lovely juxtaposition of robust meaty flavors and sweet autumnal accents. Desserts may include a hazelnut and chocolate tart and a praline soufflé.
