Some of Brooklyn's fluffiest and freshest falafel can be found at Fatoosh, where it's wrapped in a burrito-style pita and served in a casual Cobble Hill-Brooklyn Heights eatery. The tiny dining area doesn't feel cramped, perhaps because the floor-to-ceiling windows offer views of the pretty and leafy street scene outside. Fatoosh's innovative "pitzas" offer sun-dried tomatoes, beef, leeks or marinated chicken on a tender yet crispy pita crust, and the shish kebab, grilled chicken and fish kebab sandwiches shouldn't be missed. Then there are the salads: couscous, tabbouleh and foole (fava beans, chopped tomatoes, onions, lemon and garlic) are just a few of the freshly made options. Desserts include the ubiquitous baklava and honey-soaked lady fingers.
