The Tomato Description:
The burger part of the menu reflects the offerings of the restaurant as a whole. You can have a flame grilled hamburger of the usual beef type. Or you can choose flame grilled turkey or "organic free range bison" or "homemade veggie." You can choose one of 7 kinds of cheese for your flame grilled burger.
This same diversity goes for the sandwiches offered during lunch (served for the civilized 11am to 5pm range of time). The same for the "Mix and Match Pasta" where you make your choice from 4 kinds of pasta, 4 kinds of sauce, and 4 kinds of (optional) toppings.
The entrees range from homey fried chicken or meatloaf, through several kinds of grilled or roasted fish, to vegetarian spaghetti with "tofu meatballs" or vegetarian stew with tempeh.
The decor is an interesting blend of warm nostalgic and contemporary with dark wood contrasting with the dark pastel walls. The name of the restaurant is reflected in the very large red spheres that serve as light fixtures and the large photographs of people from a simpler past enjoying pasta.
