Bobo Description:
If you spend enough time in the West Village, eventually, you'll be asked: Where's Bobo? There's no sign for this much-buzzed-about eatery, hidden in a nondescript brownstone. Consisting of two floors (with an outdoor area in back), the dining space is crammed with antiques from the Hudson Valley; owner Carlos Suarez hopes it evokes a European-style dinner party. And it does, sort of. Only the food at Bobo (short for "bourgeois bohemian") is much better here than at your French friend's apartment. The Continental cuisine includes a creamy Serrano ham and mushroom risotto topped by crunchy almonds and infused with manchego, and a raw diver scallop accompanied by beets and wild asparagus. You might not feel right at home, but you won't mind visiting again.
