'beca Description:
Set in the diminutive lobby of the chic Duane Street Hotel in TriBeCa, this Med-meets-Manhattan-focused eatery is helmed by Kristiaan Ueno who produces seasonal dishes that veer toward the lighter, healthier side of the eating experience. A blood orange and beet salad (with frisée and ricotta) and an arugula and fennel salad, sprinkled with tart pomegranate seeds, dazzle the taste buds without filling the tummy. The Kobe beef burger is stacked high, topped with a mountain of caramelized onions, and dripping with general goodness. The potato-less, Parisian-style gnocchi---light, fluffy, and partially pan-fried---is accompanied by kabocha squash. The long, narrow room, flanked by a banquette and two-seater window-side tables, makes for a fine TriBeCa spot to while away a few hours.
