Mark Description:
Two years of reconstruction work in this narrow space on St. Marks Place has produced a dimly lit gem of a burger bar. Low-lying tables and a long bar topped with thick wood almost steal the show from the real attraction: the cheeseburger and bacon burger made from chuck, sirloin and short rib. The bacon burger is infused with crispy bacon bits adding a whole lot of flavor and a nice crunchy texture. Jalapeño sauce and chipotle ketchup are available, but the burgers here are too good to disguise the flavor with condiments. The ice cream-topped pecan pie may hit the spot, but it's impossible to leave without trying the Guinness milk shake---that's right, vanilla ice cream and Guinness go very well together, it turns out.
