Fresh produce and meats take center stage at this West Nashville classic, which bends and sways with young chef Drew Racin's whims. Constants from the days when owner Willy Thomas ran the kitchen include the Szechuan green beans and the green chile mac 'n' cheese, which has the power to draw diners on its own. Racin is in his element with seafood; try his playful appetizer of salmon "pastrami" over crispy rye waffles or an entrée of grilled shrimp over orzo with red pepper emulsion and truffled parsley. There's a well-chosen and reasonably priced wine list to boot, and the desserts are well worth checking out for chocolate diversions. The space boasts quiet nooks for two and a sweeping patio for parties.
