The Hearthstone Restaurant Description:
Founded in 1975 and is located five minutes from downtown and ten minutes from popular suburban malls.
The menu includes traditional European favorites such as carpaccio of beef, classic French steak and pommes frites, croque monsieur sandwich, chicken Milanese, spring rolls, California style pizzas, grilled paninis, and an array of chops, salads and sandwiches.
Opening in 1975 as one of West Michigan's first gourmet sandwich, soup and entrée salad restaurants, The Hearthstone is still pleasing customers with the same nothing-but-homemade formula. The menu has since filled out, and then some. Expect hearty entrées such as duckling served over wheat and barley pilaf and sweet potato purée; char-grilled Delmonico steak with potato and onion gratin and creamed spinach; and linguine with chicken, artichokes and wild mushrooms. Sandwiches include the French classic croque monsieur. The ambience is reminiscent of a bistro, with a polished cherrywood interior and vintage French and Italian bistro posters.
