The Local Description:
Although The Local pulls off being three pubs in one, it does so without compromising the spirit or quality of any. The Whiskey Lounge is all about comfy, cushy sofas and overstuffed chairs, while the Porter Pub offers the quintessential gleaming, long (80-foot) dark wood bar that's great for leaning against and admiring bottles while tipping a Guinness. The Palace, on the other hand, boasts lighter woods with a bar, a few tables and a seasonally changing menu. This is where we like to order up one of The Local's shepherd's pies to accompany our pint. Or, snag a pot roast sandwich or our favorite, the fish 'n' chips. The fireplace at the end of the Porter Pub is fake, but the warmth is real. Or maybe all that heat is coming from the private "kissing room" right behind it.
