Tryg's Description:
With its warm woods, soaring barrel vaulted ceilings, lavish stonework and handsome contemporary furnishings, it's no wonder that Tryg's is noted for its design. (Ask for a semi-private seat in one of the plush, 270-degree booths.) The kitchen holds up its end, too, focusing on a wood-burning grill that burnishes deep smoke flavor into a variety of steaks, chops and seafood. A rotisserie, adjacent, is responsible for a good roast chicken. Classic side dishes (twice-baked potatoes, creamed corn, hand-cut fries) and a long list of familiar but well-prepared starters like mini-burgers, fat crab cakes and crispy onion rings round out the offerings. Dessert? Grilled pineapple upside-down cake, of course. The bar shakes up a fine selection of cocktails, and the all-American wine list is noteworthy for its variety and value.
