Miralto Description:
No matter what happens, there's always that terrific view. Located on the 41st floor of a 50s-era tower that until recently was the tallest building in Latin America, Miralto's tableside perspectives are thrilling day or night and clear days are especially breathtaking. Our dining experiences, however, haven't always reached such heights; repeat visits have ranged from pretty good to not good at all, depending on…we're not sure. The menu features "international" (but hardly innovative) bistro classics: steak frites (perfectly serviceable, except on one occasion when three trips to the kitchen didn't get it right), a nice tableside Caesar, plus a hamburger. Our shrimp bisque was a tasty surprise, and the "baby" chicken came out crispy and juicy. So why did the creamed spinach seem like roadkill? If you're unwilling to roll the dice, the adjacent bar offers views just as spectacular and one of the city's few proper martinis. Service is attentive at the least and usually first-rate.
