Puerto San Lucas Description:
A few blocks off Cabo's tourist track, the casual Puerto San Lucas offers quality Mexican fare including generously portioned steaks, seafood and chicken. Appetizers range from simple battered fish and shrimp tacos to seafood cocktails and ceviches. All of the salads, including the tableside-prepared Caesar, are made with local, organically grown produce. Whole, deep-fried huachinango (red snapper) from nearby waters is a local favorite. You can have your fish, shrimp or crab prepared in a myriad of ways including with ajo (garlic), Veracruz-style (green chile sauce) and empanizada (breaded). The seafood relleno fills a large poblano chile with seafood, cream and cheese sauce. Angus beef is used for everything from arrachera (seasoned flank steak) and fajitas to rib-eyes and hamburgers. Exotic fruit martinis and margaritas are cocktail specialties. Desserts are traditional: homemade flan, cheesecake and ice cream.
