Puerta Vieja Description:
Puerta Vieja's Bauhaus-style building was designed and built for the restaurant from the ground-up. You're surrounded by Mexican crafts and antiques from the moment you walk through the enormous 150-year-old East Indian (yes, Indian) carved doors. Views of the bay and Land's End beyond can be seen from the two dining levels, loft bar and terraza. Mexican fare, steaks, seafood, Italian dishes and an Angus burger are available on the something-for-everyone menu. Salads include the Thai chicken, curry shrimp and a classic Caesar; a piquant seafood stew makes a good soup starter. Lobster and shrimp dishes, surf 'n' turf (with Sonoran beef) combos, and fresh fish prepared "al gusto" (as you like it) and more satisfy in seafood-centric Cabo. For the indecisive there's the Puerta Vieja specialty: three lamb chops, three jumbo shrimps and a lobster tail. Desserts are simple and traditional, such as Key lime pie and flan.
