Beraca Description:
Neither the largest Honduran eatery nor the easiest to locate, Beraca dishes up baleadas that alone warrant a trip out to the suburbs. Essentially a thick, warm, flour tortilla folded in half to cradle a smear of fried red beans and sharp, crumbled cheese, the baleadas at Beraca are gilded with a mellow, ivory-colored Honduran cream. You can watch the kitchen staff pull, roll and griddle-cook each tortilla to order as the humble strip mall restaurant fills with the smell of toasty bread.
