When the fast-food doldrums get you down, Café 56 offers a quick and healthy alternative that doesn't skimp on flavor. The restaurant features 56 different types of salads and toppings, all tossed fresh. Whether you're a vegetarian or a carnivore, prefer chicken or steak, like chickpeas or peppers, there's a salad for just about everyone. Try Salmon Davis Junior, tasty apple-smoked salmon on romaine and iceberg with tomato wedges, sliced cucumber, black olives, red peppers and herby garlic croutons. Or go for the Popeye with sliced mushrooms, eggs, onions, herb croutons and smoked bacon on fresh baby spinach. Besides the salads, some soups and wraps are offered. Our favorite? The Paris Hilton wrap with grilled portobello mushrooms, roasted red peppers, sliced tomatoes, wild greens, sun-dried tomato pesto and Brie.
