Akbar Description:
Like fraternal twins, the two Akbars share the same menu, but have different personalities. The Columbia location pumps up the volume, using deeply roasted spices in its masalas. Standards like roghan josh or paneer, the house-made cheese, in a thick tomato curry spiked with cilantro are always crowd pleasers, but for an intriguing taste treat try the chicken chaat, a refreshing appetizer roused with mango powder and tamarind sauce. Akbar's kulfi falooda, an iced dessert of sweetened milk infused with ground pistachios and a hint of rosewater, makes for a fine ending to a very good meal. A well-stocked lunch buffet is available daily, and both Akbars offer full-service catering.
