Mellow Mushroom Description:
The different locations in "The 'Shroom" chain distinguish themselves with variations in menu offerings, but the whole-grain pizza dough, made with spring water and no refined sugar, comes out of the commissary to all units. An array of toppings such as spinach, tofu and broccoli, along with meats that are cooked in-house, give the pie fan with health in mind a break from the standards (which are available as well). The house special pie is a grab bag of sundry ingredients while a more classical pizza is the version made with pesto sauce and mozzarella. Sandwiches, which may be ordered by the half, include the Italian hoagie, with its very good side salad. This unit serves slices daily until 3 p.m., and offers five beers on tap and 20 by the bottle.
