At No. Five-O Shore Road, the gracious hosts, owners Donato Tramuto and Jeffrey Porter, bring European charm to this small but lively resort town as they mingle with guests, many of them regulars, in the sunny dining room. Elegant dishes like rope-cultured Maine mussels with thyme and Gorgonzola cream or fried sweetbreads with a simple sauce of lemon and capers are winners. You can't go wrong with comfort food such as meat or vegetable lasagna and beef tenderloin brochette. There are touches of the exotic, too, in almond-encrusted duck tenders with a chili sauce touched with sweetness, all served with gusto---and, of course, a smile.
