MC Perkins Cove Description:
The owners of Arrows also operate this less-expensive, less-formal Contemporary American bistro overlooking the water.
Arrows Restaurant a few miles away gets all the accolades, but Mark Gaier and Clark Frasier's more down-to-earth restaurant deserves praise as well. MC Perkins Cove has a more laidback vibe and is easier on the wallet but offers the same great quality. Refined comfort food is served in a spectacular ocean setting. Large picture windows show the crashing surf in the cove while the menu pays attention to the seasons, with all vegetables coming from nearby gardens. Seafood is the house specialty with a raw bar that includes a "tower" of tuna sashimi and lobster. Try the deep-fried trout with the chef's signature Asian twist in Chinese fermented black beans or go à la carte with steaks served with "evil carbos" like cheddar cheese beignets. Desserts are creative as well, with highlights including white chocolate bread pudding and toffee pudding with a bourbon toffee sauce.
