Tic Toc Room Description:
Dinner at the Tic Toc makes perfect sense after spending a day touring historic Macon's many fine sites. Longtime executive chef Julio Rosas offers a good selection of specially styled sushi for an opener, although his lobster bisque (a generous portion is just $4) should get diners' attention. It comes flecked with bits of tomato, and is as full-on flavored with lobster as one might wish. While mains can be pricey, especially for this market, they're usually worthwhile, and run the gamut from steaks to fish, each appropriately garnished. One of the most reasonably priced mains ($17) is a fine pair of fat catfish fried in the Southern manner. And with the range of good salads and pastas, it's easy to steer costs to respect one's wallet. Desserts all are made in-house. The wine list is extensive and, although we've liked it better in the past for its adventurousness and its value choices, it's still wide and deep in selections. But dine with friends so you can share a bottle, because the by-the-glass list needs to be revamped.
