Tahoe Bbq Description:
When we eat at Tahoe Galbi, we usually steer clear of the grill tables in its cavernous, contemporary central dining space, flanked on either side by private rooms that expand or contract in size with folding screens. Instead, we head for the enclosed terrace along the building's western side, where tables gaze out through large windows onto a walled garden lined with waterfalls, filling the room with refreshing breezes and drowning the traffic noise from Wilshire. Here, we can almost imagine we're in a Korean country inn as we tuck into huge portions of premium main-course ingredient choices like short ribs, Angus prime sirloin steak, black Canadian Berkshire pork, and black tiger prawns, all cooked over a live hardwood charcoal fire in the center of each table. Just as impressive is the array of accompaniments, from steaming glasses of rich, soothing barley tea to a wide assortment of cooked and pickled vegetable sides to a small cup of the sweet, toasty Korean rice drink called shikye, sipped to end the meal.
