Village Idiot Description:
The exterior, with its picture windows, high gloss black trim and classic hanging sign screams London pub, but the vibe inside the Village Idiot is more SoCal smooth than London proper. The menu puts a West Coast spin on traditional pub food, with dishes like ale-steamed mussels, sunchoke and mushroom pie and a caramelized onion-topped house burger. Beer, of course, is the elixir of choice with a global selection on tap, including brews from Belgium, Pasadena and even the Czech Republic. Although the décor may be slick and the cuisine sophisticated, the bar still serves as the neighborhood pub. As such, it can get quite crowded on weekend nights. If you're not planning on dining early, be prepared for a lengthy wait.
