Locanda Veneta Description:
Close your eyes and let Locanda Veneta transport you to the cobbled streets and canals of Venice (yet, oddly enough, inhabited by a smattering of Hollywood stars). From the kitchen, you can smell the olive oil being poured over the carpaccio and hear the sizzle of roasting lamb. We recommend any of the pastas, from the penne in a spicy tomato sauce to the dramatically presented black ravioli stuffed with lobster and bathed in a saffron cream sauce. Also notable on the small menu: rack of lamb, generously portioned osso buco in a Barolo-mushroom sauce and, when available, the sweet and smoky langoustines. The wine list is mainly composed of Italian and California labels, with a nice selection of organic wines from both origins; there are French options as well.
