Armando J. Castro founded this Havana-like Cuban supper club in 1987. The drinks are cool, the food is hot and so is the live weekend salsa music. Start with the croquetas filled with chicken or ham, served with plantain chips and garlic. The menu offers Cuban greatest hits like the ropa vieja ("old clothes" in Spanish)---shredded beef sautéed with tomatoes, garlic and spices; roasted chicken marinated in lemon-garlic sauce; and tender chunks of fried pork, marinated in---what else?---garlic. If you're feeling flush, consider the Spanish paella Valenciana, loaded with chicken, pork, sausage, clams, lobster, shrimp, whitefish and crab legs. To drink, the appropriate choice is the mojito. For dessert, partake in a slice of tres leches cake or mango cheesecake.
