Monsieur Marcel, an authentic French café/wine bar adjacent to the gourmet market of the same name, occupies one of the most charming corners of the historic Farmers Market. Unlike most of its neighboring dining venues, this café provides full table service in an open-air dining area with candlelit tables draped with colorful fabrics. Start out with some escargots or pâté, then move on to coq au vin or steak au poivre. The quiches, salads and sandwiches---including one of the city's best croque monsieurs---are more than respectable as well. If you're just snacking, the horseshoe-shaped wine bar offers some good cheeses and a decent selection of pours.
