L.A. Desserts Description:
The Ivy is a Robertson institution better known for celebrity sightings than the quality of its comfort food. In back, away from the paparazzi's glare, resides L.A. Desserts, a charming room offering Ivy co-owner Richard Irving's sugary creations. L.A. Desserts features the same desserts that are served at The Ivy, plus smaller items sold by the pound like chocolate chip cookies, pecan squares and walnut-studded brownies. Chocolate cake is the signature dessert, sold in "baby" eight-inch and ten-inch sizes. The rich treat utilizes roasted walnuts, French ground coffee and Cognac to good effect. There's also Key lime meringue pie and a textbook slice of cheesecake with a sugar cookie crust. There's even homemade ice cream, such as praline.
