Wurstküche Description:
Gourmet and exotic grilled sausages can be found at Wurstküche, opened by twenty-something cousins Joseph Pitruzzelli and Tyler Wilson. Pitruzzelli, a designer by trade, has created an edgy industrial space that fits in with the neighborhood, the gradually transforming Toy District. Featured sausages are buffalo with chipotle; rattlesnake and rabbit with jalapeño, duck and bacon; and alligator and hickory-smoked pork andouille. There's also sweet and hot Italian, bockwurst, bratwurst and knockwurst for traditionalists. Double-dipped Belgian fries are the showcased side dish here, with sauces ranging from the semi-traditional (chipotle mayo, ranch) to the somewhat exotic (Thai peanut, coconut-curry mayo, strawberry ketchup). Wash it all down with one of the many imported beers on tap, or with a specialty soda from Moxie or Fentimans.
