Alounak Description:
Skewered meats are the sine qua non of Persian cuisine. Here the diced marinated fillets and minced lamb are always tender and options such as barbecued swordfish with herbs are especially fresh. Scoop it all up with traditional steamed rice and just-made bread. The attractive brick dining room, full of cheerful artifacts, buzzes. Expect to pay about £30 to £35 for two, and, as it's unlicensed, bring your own wine. The sister restaurant, Alounak Kebab, serves the same food, though is under a different owner.
