Le Pont de La Tour Description:
Le Pont de la Tour combines modern French cuisine with elegant surroundings and magnificent river views.
The venue is elegant, with a welcome terrace for summer dining and a dining room with windows looking out on to the Thames and floodlit Tower Bridge. The theme is Anglo-French, championing the best ingredients from both sides of the Channel---Dover sole, simply grilled, rack of lamb, Scottish scallops. Tables are rather too tightly packed for some and service can at times veer towards the indifferent. The same cannot be said for the sommeliers, whose knowledge and enthusiasm is thoroughly infectious. If you don't want the full treatment, the bar and grill serve a simpler, very good value menu and there's a pianist in the evenings. Menus from 2 courses at £20 to 3 at £39; tasting menu 5 courses £48. Grill menus, 2 courses £13.50, 3 courses £17.50.
