Cecconi's attracts the rich and fashionable which is not surprising as it was opened by Enzo Cecconi in 1978 and is now owned by Nick Jones, who brought in Ilse Crawford (the ultra-cool designer of Nick Jones's Soho House in London and New York and Babington House) to transform the venue and open up the space. The chef, Daniele Pampagnin, offers an intriguing menu ranging from a bacon sandwich at breakfast (or go for broke with the set £18 breakfast) to a Venetian-style selection of cichetti that runs from foie gras and grape crostini to aubergine Parmigiana so patrons have the chance to eat modestly or expensively. Pan-fried calf's liver with pancetta and mash sits happily beside risottos and pastas. Those with an appetite go for the £45 set menu. Serving all day, Cecconi's caters to the early birds in Mayfair at 7am, the lunchtime art dealers, and evening couples and parties.
