Carluccio's Caffe Description:
From modest beginnings, inspired by Antonio and Priscilla Carluccio, Carluccio's has gone through a change of ownership and huge expansion. It's modeled directly on the Italian café-deli-restaurant concept and is well done. One of the first was in Market Place, just north of Oxford Street. There are chairs and tables outside, a small shop in the immediate entrance, then a long stainless-steel bar down one side of the café with tables and chairs opposite. It buzzes and hums with customers all day, while the deli side is booming. Food is freshly prepared and runs from mushroom soup or hearty pasta and bean soup from Sardinia, to lasagnas, salads, antipasti and cheeses. There are branches all over London.
