The White Horse Description:
Known affectionately to regulars as the Sloaney Pony, this classic pub has always concentrated on food. It's also built up a standout list of beers (over 60 unusual and worthwhile bottled varieties) as well as an impressive wine list with over 20 wines by the glass. After a renovation, the pub is looking even better and there is a dedicated non-smoking restaurant in the former coach house and a sparkling kitchen. Expect the likes of pressed beef with watercress and piccalilli salad or oysters to start, followed by wild boar sausages with trad onion mash and beer gravy or beer-battered fish 'n' chips. Desserts revert rightly to the likes of rice pudding or go for the good British cheeses.
