Terroirs Wine Bar & Restaurant Description:
Young chef and co-owner Ed Wilson has come from Almeida and Galvin – Bistrot de Luxe; his co-owner and manager, Richard Martinez, was the star meeter and greeter who knew everyone at Via Condotti. So it's not a surprise that this informal, noisy, highly enjoyable wine bar, based on Parisian models and complete with old furniture and the right kind of posters, is packed to the rafters. Punters come for a wine list that majors in French and Italian producers from small organic, sustainable and biodynamic artisan growers. There's a wide selection of wines by the glass and carafe. The menu is terrific, a suitably good selection of cheeses and charcuterie and small plates running from piperade Basquaise with chorizo to whole crab with mayonnaise. Main dishes like bavette with shallots and red wine sauce recall Paris at its best. Service is charming.
