Santini is a family-owned and -run Italian restaurant which has been catering to its rich and business clientele for decades, and it still delivers the same upmarket experience that it has always achieved. The atmosphere is calm; the waiters go about their business in a self-confident way; as soon as you walk in you know you will be looked after in the best way. The Italian cooking is Venetian based, the dishes relying on simple delivery from fresh, seasonal ingredients. Classics might include a salt cod mousse with grilled polenta. Pastas are homemade and very good indeed; choose spaghetti alle vongole for a taste of the real thing. Mains continue the simple theme as in a steamed fillet of sea bass with herb and balsamic vinegar dressing, or the classic veal chop. Desserts are just as good, and the wine list is well balanced.
