La Petite Maison Description:
Opened by the main owner of Roka and Zuma, Arjun Waney, La Petite Maison goes more rural, re-creating La Petite Maison in Nice. If the sun is not shining in London, just look at the table decorations of a lemon, tomatoes and a bottle of olive oil and imagine you're in the south of France. The food will mostly remind you of sunny weather, with dishes like pissaladière, French beans with foie gras and deep-fried courgette flowers as starters. Main fish dishes include monkfish with tomatoes, olives and chick peas, whole sea bream, shellfish and pasta stew. Meat eaters might go for grilled veal chop or grilled lamb cutlets with smoked aubergine. The emphasis here is on sharing, so try most of the dishes between you. It's a noisy restaurant, but the staff is delightful. If you're a fan of rosé, you'll feel at home, but there's a good French wine selection too.
