The Orangery Description:
This gracious eighteenth-century building, designed as a greenhouse by Sir John Vanbrugh, is a rather austere setting with its huge ceilings and large windows. Everybody is rather well-behaved, as a result, and it's a bit like going to tea with a respected aunt. Light lunch dishes such as sandwiches and salads are delicious, but the place really comes into its own at teatime when glorious cream cakes make an appearance. If you want to try an English tradition, go for Eton mess (better than it sounds).
