Indigo Description:
This is the stylish second in-house restaurant on the mezzanine of the lobby of hugely fashionable One Aldwych. It looks directly down onto the bar with its over-size sculptures, striking flower arrangements and arched windows. Upstairs the place is small and comfortable with armchairs. The imaginative menu ranges from mackerel escabeche with kohlrabi and pear salad and a caviar vinaigrette to Scottish scallops with pork belly and sweet corn purée; good salads and mains hit all the right modern notes. Try celeriac and caramelized onion risotto with watercress and girolles for a light dish or go for the duck breast with pickled blackberries and caramelized cauliflower. Desserts are topnotch. Good wines and professional, suave, friendly service. Pre- and post-theatre 2-course menu £16.75, 3 courses £19.75.
