Goodman Description:
Walk into the large, wooden-floored and wooden-panelled restaurant and you could be excused for thinking you were in New York. But this is a London steakhouse and, surprisingly, it is Russian-owned, an offshoot of Goodman in Moscow. Sink into your dark leather banquette, down an ice-cold vodka and choose from steaks that have been aged in-house and hand-cut. Most of the steaks will set you back a basic £25 and range from Australian, 110-days grain fed---rib-eye (400 g); to USDA Prime beef, 120-days grain fed---New York strip steak (350 g). It's well sourced and aged and properly cooked to your liking. All steaks come with a choice of sauce. Side dishes are £4. Of course, you could do the burger or even fish but that misses the point. The wine list ranges far and the sommelier is helpful. Service is good; prices are very reasonable; the atmosphere is welcoming.
